Friday Five 7-12-2019

07.12.2019 by Tana Henry //

This is the thirty-ninth installment in my sorta weekly series, called the Friday Five. In this series, I’ll tell you about five random things that I love, whether they be books, travel, music, movies…or whatever. So without further ado, 7-12-2019’s Friday Five!

1–The Making of The Greatest Showman. I’ve not made a secret of my love for The Greatest Showman. Here’s some behind the scenes details.

2–Baking Hacks. I’m a baker. I enjoy making cookies and cakes to enjoy and share. I’ve not been baking a ton lately because I’m doing WW, but these hacks will definitely come in handy!

3–Willa Cather. Mike and I recently visited the Willa Cather Foundation and museum in Red Cloud, Nebraska (the post is coming!). I also found this article on Atlas Obscura.

4–Space. Ever wondered about how astronauts wash their hair on the International Space Station? Now you can know.

5–Tour de Nebraska. I ride Peloton, and really want to get a road bike and ride outside too. I’m thinking that the Tour de Nebraska needs to be part of the summer of 2020’s fun.

Pearl Lake Scuba Diving
Mike with a couple of fish while scuba diving Pearl Lake. You can read more about our experience there here.

This is the thirty-eighth installment in my sorta weekly series, called the Friday Five. In this series, I’ll tell you about five random things that I love, whether they be books, travel, music, movies…or whatever. So without further ado, 5-31-2019’s Friday Five!

1–Downton Abbey. The new trailer for the Downton Abbey movie is out, and it looks great! I can’t wait to see the movie!

2–Budapest. Budapest is definitely on my to-visit list thanks in part to these two posts from Our Escape Clause (here and here), and this one from National Geographic. Hopefully I’ll find a great flight deal there someday!

3–Ride On King Jesus. I just love this video from the Proclamation Gospel Choir. It’s inspiring and

4–Verizon Travel Pass. I read this article about the Verizon Travel Pass, and didn’t even know that such a think existed. This could be very useful to us.

5–Old Town Road. Guys, this song is awesome and definitely gets stuck in my head. But…did you know that there’s a movie?! With Chris Rock. It’s awesome. Check it out here!

Kaaboo
Tana with Shaq! At Kaaboo Del Mar.

After quite a LONG hiatus, this is the thirty-seventh installment in my sorta weekly series, called the Friday Five. In this series, I’ll tell you about five random things that I love, whether they be books, travel, music, movies…or whatever. So without further ado, 5-24-2019’s Friday Five!

1–Barrel Clouds. I really, really loved watching this time-lapse of some barrel clouds in Otoe County, Nebraska. It is visually striking, and I’ve watched it I don’t even know how many times.

2–Peloton. I still love my Peloton, y’all. It’s just amazing. Here’s a vlog from Jesse Palmer about taking his first cycling class with Robin Arzon and interviewing the Queen herself. Such a great video! And if you’re interested in purchasing the bike or the tread, use my referral code (WH9XBC) and we both get $100 credit in the boutique.

3–Shoes on the Danube Promenade. Talk about a lump in your throat. This photo, and this installation make real the human cost of genocide.

4–The Classics. I love reading classic literature. It’s a nice break from new books. Modern Mrs. Darcy has a great list of 25 must-reads. And many of these are more accessible than you might think!

5–This Is Me. I still love The Greatest Showman. And the song that makes me choke up every time I hear it is this one. Here’s a little video from the creators about it.

My name is Tana, and I am an attorney in South-Central Nebraska. I'm married to a great guy, named Mike, and have a dog named Emmy and a cat named Scout. I read as much as possible, and travel any chance I get. Luggage and Literature chronicles both. I hope you enjoy looking around! Please leave me a comment and tell me what you think.
