When I travel, I always find time to get a bit of reading time in. Car trips, flights, and relaxing by a pool or on a beach afford ample time to read fantastic books. Here is What I Read while traveling to Jacksonville and Gainesville, Florida.
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
I had read Jules Verne before, and really enjoyed his books, and therefore have been meaning to read this one for quite some time. The book is a classic adventure story. Being a scuba diver, some of the information about what exists and happens below the ocean is laughable, while other parts of it are spot on. I loved it.
The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands by Lisa Terkeurst
This book has been on my nightstand waiting to be read for quite some time. And I know why. Yes, I’m busy and have a ton of books that I want to read all the time, but that’s not the real reason. The real reason is that this is the book that I really needed to be reading right now, at this very moment in my life. Things have been busy, and hard, and I’ve felt pulled in a million directions. This book provided me with the “why” and the framework for pulling me back to the direction that I want to take, and that God wants me to take. Saying no to things, even worthwhile things, makes it possible to say yes to the best yes. I’m so glad this book made it into my carry on bag on this trip.
All That Ails You: The Adventures of a Canine Caregiver by Mark J. Asher
